Fourth of July Surf Fishing Brings Quality Whiting and Black Drum fishing report coverpicture

Charter this morning with Kyle and Kevin who came over from Tampa for the 4th. Fished the morning 3 hours of rising tide. Water started out ok maybe 7 out of 10, but got worse as the tide came in. Also a few leftover weeds were around but not the worst and was fishable. When it did get dirty the cats moved in. But we were still able to put some quality fish on the. Beach including these 2, 14" Whiting and a 13" Black Drum. All caught on Orange and Gold SurfPro Tackle float hooks, Pomp-Elite Surf Rigs & Floats Disco Pompano rigs. Green crab Fishbites was the main bait of choice. Also had a prior client stop by to let me know he got his custom Tomoka Rod Company rods and loves em. Highly recommend..... Still fish around. Indian River Lagoon - Brevard, FL Fishing Report on 29th Jul, 2026 - 2

Made the run north to New Smyrna Beach to put Stacie and her crew on some fish. It was the 1st time Surf Fishing for all of them, pretty sure they are "hooked". Fished from dead low to 3 hours past. Clean calm water, no fleas. Caught 3 Pompano, 1 micro and 2 just under, 4 Jacks, 1 nice Blue, and 15+ Whiting all very solid with two 15"ers. Was a catch and release trip, they came down from GA. They normally go to the Panhandle and said they really enjoyed the time. All fish caught way way out, needed everything the Tomoka Rod Company 13's could give me. SurfPro Tackle float hooks, white and Pomp-Elite Surf Rigs & Floats Plan Jane, Disco, and Captain Signature Series all crushed it. Fishbites orange clam, and ghost shrimp crushed it. 3oz #luckysinker is all that was needed to hold today. Another Team Fishbites member, Chris Mansfield aka Reel Healin Outdoors was set up just to my north and had his crew on no stop fish as well. Nice seeing him on the beach and watching him put true pride into his charter. Well done my man. Fish are here, LET'S GO CATCHING!

Solid 2 hour charter this morning across from PSFB. Falling tide, so so water a little dirty had to deal with a few cats, but did manage a dozen Whiting, 1 stud. Was a catch and release trip. All Whiting caught on Orange Clam Fishbites on Pomp-Elite Surf Rigs & Floats Captain B's signature series Plan Jane rigs and SurfPro Tackle white float hook rigs. It is hot out there but still can find fish. Get out early with lots to drink. Let's Go Catching!

Manged to put a few fish on the beach for Mike and his family. Fished PSFB area 3 hours falling tide. Could only fish 3 setups due to conditions. Still weeds, but not as bad but still not good. Strong current and dirty water. Caught Whiting, Margate, Croaker, and a few cats of course due to conditions. Fishbites Green crab sent was bait that caught the Whiting. First outing with the Florida Fishing Products new Resolute DS 6000 and 5000. DS stands for deep spool. Preformed great, love em. Not the best but not the worst. Still can find em if you find where the weeds aren't thick. Let's Go Catching!!
