The pre-tournament meeting will be held at Mavericks Hangar Bar & Grill.

Pre-registered anglers are not required to attend. However, anglers who attend the meeting will receive additional raffle tickets for Saturday's drawing.

Important Weigh-In Information

• Day-of registration and Saturday weigh-in will take place at tournament headquarters.
• The registration deadline is 7:00 PM on Friday, November 6th, 2026.
• Weigh-in opens at 12:00 PM and closes at 4:00 PM.
• Anglers must be in line by 4:00 PM. No exceptions.

Entry Fee

$60 per angler

FISHING RESTRICTIONS & REQUIREMENTS

This is an on-foot surf fishing tournament for pompano and whiting.

Where You Can Fish

• Fishing must take place from Atlantic Coast beaches.
• Fishing from a boat is strictly prohibited.
• Fishing in the Indian River Lagoon or any other inland body of water is strictly prohibited.

Bait & Tackle

Both natural and synthetic baits are permitted. Artificial lures, including jigs, may also be used on lighter tackle where applicable in the surf.

Fish Requirements

All Florida pompano size restrictions and bag limits must be followed.

No cut or mutilated pompano or whiting will be accepted.

Tournament judges reserve the right to refuse to weigh any fish that appears to have been caught prior to legal tournament hours.

MINIMUM FISH SIZES

POMPANO

Minimum 11-inch fork length

Pompano must measure at least 11 inches fork length as required by Florida law and tournament officials.

WHITING

Minimum 12-inch overall length

Whiting must measure a minimum of 12 inches overall length to qualify.

TOURNAMENT RULES

• All participants are responsible for reading and following all rules and regulations established by the Mavericks Hangar Bar & Grill Surf Fishing Championship.
• In the event of a weight tie, the fish weighed first will receive the higher position on the leaderboard. The second fish will be listed next in order.
• Registered anglers may weigh only one pompano and one whiting for prize consideration. No exceptions.
• The Tournament Committee reserves the right to enforce all rules, including disqualifications.
• All Tournament Committee decisions are final.
• Pre-registered anglers are not required to attend the Pre-Tournament Meeting. Those who attend will receive additional raffle tickets for Saturday's drawing.
• Payment of the entry fee and participation in the tournament represents acceptance of all tournament terms and conditions.
• All participants agree to hold Mavericks Hangar Bar & Grill harmless. Anglers are fishing and participating at their own risk.

FISH VERIFICATION PROCESS

Each registered angler will receive a specific verification code the night before the tournament.

Anglers must write this code on the top of their hand.

When a fish is caught:

1. Place the fish on a measuring board.
2. Tape and film the fish with your hand visible in the video.
3. Film a 360-degree view of the area where you are fishing.
4. Submit the video if your fish places in the tournament.

If your fish wins a prize position, the video will be reviewed by tournament officials to verify that the fish was caught legally and meets all tournament requirements.

RAFFLE

Raffle ticket sales will take place during the Pre-Tournament Meeting and at weigh-in.

The raffle drawing will take place on Saturday promptly after weigh-in.

Anglers who attend the Pre-Tournament Meeting will receive additional raffle tickets for Saturday's drawing.
